Methodology
How it works
1
Universe
Start from the Nifty LargeMidCap 250, filtered to stocks priced under ₹5,000.
2
Rank
Score every stock in the universe by a momentum composite: price trend over several look backs, risk adjusted. The top names by score become the candidate list.
3
Select
Hold the top 40 names by score, equal weighted so no single name dominates.
4
Rebalance
Every 2 weeks the model runs again end to end. Names that fall out of the top 40 are sold; new entrants are bought. The full list is published at every rebalance.

Why Large Midcap
A sample portfolio on a phone
40 stocks from the Nifty LargeMidCap 250 universe, equal-weighted, rotated every 2 weeks. Pure equity, no buffer sleeves.
The universe is the argument. LargeMidCap 250 spans the top 250 names, so every holding has size, liquidity, and institutional coverage. Momentum on that shelf behaves differently from momentum on small caps: shallower air pockets.
Against the concentrated cards you give up some octane and buy a tighter cap-curve: no small-cap regime risk, no micro-cap gap risk.
This is not the maximum-octane card on the lineup. It is the pure-equity card on the LargeMidCap 250 universe. For an investor who wants pure-equity momentum exposure but does not want the cap-curve risk of Midcap Smallcap or Microcap, the LargeMidCap 250 universe is the answer.
The universe is narrower than the Nifty Total Market that Allcap screens, so the two cards express the same signal at different breadths. Broader universe, more diversification. Tighter universe, larger and more liquid names. Pick the trade you prefer.
Key takeaways
Large and mid-cap momentum from the Nifty LargeMidCap 250
40 stocks equal-weighted, rebalanced fortnightly
Large-caps for liquidity, mid-caps for growth, nothing below
The middle path between broad-market breadth and concentrated bets
A description of the strategy, not a recommendation. Decide your own allocation, or ask a SEBI registered investment adviser.
Who it is written for
Written for
Investors who want growth but read a 25% drawdown as opportunity, not panic
Capital
About ₹1,99,000, one share of every holding at recent prices. More capital buys more of each holding and tracks the model weights more closely.
How the rule was built
Machine learning is used in research to search and optimise the model behind each strategy: which signals rank the universe, how many names to hold and how often to rebalance, tested out of sample. The rule that ships is then frozen and published, so the live strategy is a fixed, readable algorithm, not a black box that changes on its own.
