Methodology
How it works
1
Universe
Start from the Nifty MidSmall Healthcare, filtered to stocks priced under ₹5,000.
2
Rank
Score every stock in the universe by a momentum composite: price trend over several look backs, risk adjusted. The top names by score become the candidate list.
3
Select
Hold the top 10 names by score, equal weighted so no single name dominates.
4
Rebalance
Every week the model runs again end to end. Names that fall out of the top 10 are sold; new entrants are bought. The full list is published at every rebalance.

Why Healthcare Basket
The dashboard on sample data
The second thematic satellite card on the lineup, alongside Energy Basket. The index screens the Nifty MidSmall Healthcare universe for the top 10 momentum-ranked stocks priced under 5000, holds them equal-weighted at roughly 10% each, and rotates every week.
It rotates weekly like Energy Basket, but the universe is a different sector: mid and small cap pharma, hospitals, and life sciences. Healthcare runs on its own cycle, capex, approvals, and pricing rather than commodities, which is exactly why it earns a satellite slot next to an energy tilt.
Ten names from one sector means the card moves as a bloc when sector-wide news lands. The momentum screen decides which ten. The sector decides the weather.
This is NOT a core holding. Single-sector concentration risk is real, pharma stocks move together when USFDA decisions, domestic price caps, or hospital reimbursement rules shift. Investors without that view should put the same capital into Allcap or Midcap Smallcap instead.

Capital
About ₹36,000, one share of every holding at recent prices. More capital buys more of each holding and tracks the model weights more closely.
How the rule was built
Machine learning is used in research to search and optimise the model behind each strategy: which signals rank the universe, how many names to hold and how often to rebalance, tested out of sample. The rule that ships is then frozen and published, so the live strategy is a fixed, readable algorithm, not a black box that changes on its own.
