04Questions

Sectors, in plain words

How is a sector share worked out?

Every list is equal weighted at the stock level, so a sector's share of one list is the number of its names divided by the equity names on that list. The lineup figure averages that over the 18 latest published lists. ETF sleeves on the multi asset algos sit outside the equity count and are shown as sleeves below.

Do the index algos pick sectors?

No. Each algo screens its NSE universe on momentum and risk measures and holds the top names at equal weight. Sector shares follow from which names rank in, which is why they move from year to year.

Where does the classification come from?

NSE's four level industry classification (12 macro sectors, 22 sectors, 59 industries, 197 basic industries), read for all 816 tickers in the record on 9 Oct 2026. Every stock page names its sector, industry and basic industry.

Is this the live portfolio?

No. These pages read the published, back tested model record of each index algo. Record to 3 Jul 2026. Actual holdings are in your own broker account once you invest.
