04Questions
About Path 07.
How does macroeconomics affect the Indian stock market?
Path 7 covers the main channels: RBI policy and interest rates, inflation, the rupee and FII flows, government spending, earnings and valuation cycles, and credit cycles. Module 7.1 starts with GDP, IIP and PMI indicators.
What is a market regime?
A market regime is a macro backdrop, such as a mix of growth and inflation, in which some factors and assets do better than others. Module 7.8, Macro Regime Investing, covers identifying regimes and positioning a portfolio.
Do I have to time the market to use macro analysis?
No. Path 7 builds a framework for understanding the backdrop, not for timing it. Module 7.6 covers earnings cycles and valuation regimes, and Module 7.8 covers how to position a portfolio once you can identify a regime.
